He also offered condolences for recent “martyrdoms,” including that of the
Supreme Leader and other officials.
Pezeshkian noted the auspicious convergence of Nowruz, the Persian New
Year, with Eid al-Fitr, emphasizing that both occasions signify renewal and a
fresh start. He urged Iranians to set aside all grudges and differences,
stating, “We need Nowruz more than any other year, a Nowruz that demonstrates
national unity, cohesion, and solidarity in our culture.” He described Eid
al-Fitr as a “festival of self-building” after a month of fasting.
Addressing international relations, the President asserted that Iran seeks
no conflict with Muslim countries, referring to them as “brothers.” He
attributed existing discord to an “enemy” seeking to create problems for
Iranian society and Muslims. Pezeshkian vehemently criticized those who falsely
claim human rights, referencing the recent killing of Iranian leaders and the
attack on a school that resulted in the deaths of 168 children, an act he
described as a “stain on the forehead of those who claim humanity.”
He contrasted these actions with Iran’s peaceful nuclear stance,
reiterating that nuclear weapons are religiously forbidden in Islam and that no
official in the Islamic Republic can pursue their development. Pezeshkian
criticized the U.S. and its president for attempting to portray Iran as
pursuing nuclear weapons.
The President praised the resilience of the Iranian people, particularly
during a recent 20-day period of conflict, where citizens, even while fasting,
did not abandon the streets. He referred to the people as a “rushing river”
defending their country and expressed gratitude for the efforts of the Basij,
police, and volunteers in maintaining security and providing services.
Pezeshkian extended an invitation to Iranians abroad to set aside
grievances and work towards Iran’s prosperity. He also proposed the formation
of a regional security structure comprising Islamic countries in the Middle
East to ensure peace, security, and stability, emphasizing that the region does
not need foreign intervention.
He stated that Iran has no intention of interfering in the internal affairs
of other countries and does not wish to disrupt the region’s security and
peace. He directly accused Israel of being the cause of chaos, instability,
genocide, and terrorism in the region, countering claims that Iran is the
source of unrest.
The President concluded by expressing confidence that through empathy and
cooperation, Iran will achieve honor and pride, and that Iran, alongside its
neighbors, will foster peace, development, economic prosperity, security, and
well-being in the region.
