According to NPC, six provinces—Mazandaran, South Khorasan, Kerman,
Gilan, Kurdistan, and Fars—demonstrated the highest levels of participation in
the campaign, which seeks to encourage households to reduce energy use and
optimize consumption.
Ali Rabani, NPC’s Director of Energy Optimization, highlighted the
success of the initiative, stating that the campaign is the first of its kind
and has engaged citizens in reducing gas and electricity consumption. He noted
that Mazandaran Province has led the country in participation rates and
emphasized the role of public awareness in addressing energy imbalances.
Rabani stressed the importance of energy conservation, particularly
given Iran’s high gas consumption, which exceeds 860 million cubic meters per
day. He underscored the need to preserve non-renewable resources for future
generations and expressed hope that the campaign would help correct excessive
energy use.
The initiative has also incorporated an incentive program to encourage
participation. Selected contributors have received high-efficiency appliances,
in addition to social rewards, in a series of public lotteries.
During the third round of the campaign’s lottery, Alireza Sharifi
Nejad, Deputy of Gas Supply at the National Iranian Gas Company, praised the
sustained participation of consumers, calling the campaign a groundbreaking
effort with significant long-term impact. He stressed that effective energy
management is more critical than merely increasing production capacity.
Alireza Atashak, CEO of the National Network of Charity Organizations,
also highlighted the social impact of the initiative, noting that energy conservation
has supported philanthropic efforts, including the provision of essential
mobility aids for disadvantaged children.
During the event, it was announced that public participation in the
campaign had led to the donation of 212 wheelchairs for children, 47
high-efficiency heaters for underserved communities, six 5-kilowatt solar power
plants, and over 1,300 trees planted in the Zagros region. Additional
contributions included support for wetland restoration efforts and
service-based charity initiatives.
The third lottery event was held with the support of NPC and Zagros
Petrochemical Company. Participants were awarded 1,026 high-efficiency
appliances and financial aid for upgrading heating systems. Gas and electricity
consumers can join the initiative by registering at nabzenergy.ir to contribute
to energy conservation while being eligible for end-of-campaign rewards.
