MAHSHAHR (NIPNA) – Davood Emadi, the Health, Safety, Environment (HSE), and Non-Operational Defense Manager at the National Petrochemical Company (NPC), emphasized the key objectives of the third Petrochemical Health Festival, which is being held after an 11-year hiatus. The primary goal of this festival, according to Emadi, is to promote a healthy lifestyle.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the third Petrochemical Health Conference, Emadi highlighted the efforts made to raise awareness among employees and their families regarding healthy living. He outlined the festival's other goals, including promoting self-care, achieving balance between work and life, paying attention to both physical and mental health, and increasing awareness of overall well-being.

He further explained that the festival aims not only to showcase the achievements and activities of petrochemical companies in the field of health but also to involve families, offer health consultations, and increase interaction with external organizations in the health sector.

Emadi stressed the importance of addressing both physical and mental health, particularly pointing out that mental health has been overlooked in recent years and requires special attention. He expressed hope that the festival would achieve its goals in this area as well.

Given the wide range of products produced by the petrochemical industry, Emadi noted that some employees are exposed to occupational health and safety risks. He highlighted the responsibility of the HSE department, especially in health, to protect the well-being of employees and those exposed to workplace hazards.

Emadi also elaborated on the macro-level strategies and policies the HSE department has adopted to ensure the health of employees. He mentioned that a strategic framework had been developed, and a health policy council within the petrochemical industry has been established.

In terms of social responsibility spending, Emadi pointed out that a significant portion of the budget is allocated to health and wellness initiatives, and these expenditures are being strategically directed.

He also referenced various health projects and the establishment of health laboratories, noting that efforts have been made to monitor employee health and hire graduates in health-related fields within the petrochemical industry.

Emadi concluded by stressing that the third Health Festival is aligned with the broader health strategies and policies implemented by the petrochemical industry. He expressed gratitude to all those involved in organizing the festival, particularly the CEO of the Mahshahr Special Economic Zone and the Petrochemical Marun Company.
