The two new lines, with a combined capacity of 120,000 tons, are part of an ongoing expansion at the company. The opening ceremony took place during the president’s visit to Bushehr province and was attended by senior officials, including Ahmad Maidari, Minister of Cooperatives, Labour, and Social Welfare, and Hassan Abbaszadeh, deputy oil minister and CEO of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC).
Maidari emphasized the project’s significance for Iran’s downstream industries. “This facility will save Iran around $90 million in annual imports,” he stated. “The new plant’s production capacity is three times the current national output, with an annual output of 250,000 tons compared to the country’s existing capacity of 75,000 tons.”
The minister also highlighted the export potential of the plant, noting that 40% of its ABS production will be exported. The total investment in the project amounts to $480 million, with annual exports valued at over $400 million, generating a 30% profit margin.
