In an interview with NIPNA, Amir Hekmatmehr, Secretary of the
Association, highlighted the critical role of machinery manufacturing in
advancing the petrochemical value chain. He also noted that energy imbalance
poses a serious threat to the development of petrochemical industries, urging
authorities to take serious measures to address this issue.
Hekmatmehr emphasized the importance of advanced machinery in
enhancing productivity and reducing raw material exports. However, he pointed
out that frequent energy outages have caused significant damage to small and
medium-sized enterprises in the sector, leading to production losses and other
challenges.
The Secretary also called for smart management and the utilization of
industry associations as advisory and executive partners to the government. He
stressed that associations can play a pivotal role in addressing the challenges
facing the petrochemical industry.
Support for the private sector was identified as a key priority by
Hekmatmehr, who urged the government to strengthen collaboration with the
private sector to drive economic and industrial growth. He concluded by
stressing the need to leverage the full capacity of the country to boost
production and industrial development.
