Nekounam stressed that enhancing the profitability of
bilateral trade is crucial for Iran, whether through importing essential items
like food and livestock feed or exporting key petrochemical products, including
urea fertilizer. Despite Brazil being a significant petrochemical producer,
Nekounam pointed out that the volume of Brazil’s petrochemical exports is
nearly double its imports.
He noted the opportunities for Iran to increase its urea
exports to Brazil, leveraging Iranian shipping capabilities to boost trade
volumes. Nekounam also emphasized the importance of addressing logistical
challenges in transporting petrochemical products to Brazil and called for
joint efforts in distribution.
The ambassador concluded by reiterating the need for
collaboration with petrochemical companies to design and implement a complete
supply chain for urea distribution to Brazil, ensuring a steady and efficient
flow of this essential product.
