During a two-day excursion to the Chabahar region, Morteza Shahmirzai,
Deputy Petroleum Minister and the NPC CEO, inspected the ongoing petrochemical
projects located within the Gem of Makran Petrochemical Complex.
Highlighting the transformation of Makran into the third industrial
hub for petrochemicals in the region, Shahmirzai emphasized the proximity of
this hub to international markets, owing to its adjacency to the Sea of Oman
compared to the hubs in Asalouyeh and Mahshahr.
Speaking about the developmental aspirations for the petrochemical
industry in the Makran region, the Deputy Petroleum Minister remarked on
Makran's exceptional attributes, expressing plans in line with the Seventh
Development Plan to attract a staggering €20 billion in petrochemical
investments within this area.
