As reported by Nipna, Davood Emadi, the HSE and Passive Defense
Manager at the National Petrochemical Company, emphasized the critical need for
environmental attention in petrochemical projects and complexes. He announced
plans to introduce innovative, actionable strategies for reducing carbon
emissions in the value-creating petrochemical industry.
Emadi stressed that the adoption of novel carbon management
methods would significantly reduce pollutant emissions in the petrochemical
industry. He underscored the National Petrochemical Company's strategic
commitment to environmental preservation, urging holdings and petrochemical
companies to prioritize this principle.
Regarding the "Legal Regime of Climate Change and its
Implications on Industry and Trade" conference held yesterday, Emadi
stated that the event aimed to familiarize the nation's industries with the
environmental and economic impacts of climate change, hosted by the Iran Chamber
of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture.
He highlighted the presentation of the achievements of the
Strategic Carbon Management Project in the petrochemical industry, executed in
collaboration with the National Oil Company's Research Institute during the
conference.
The HSE and Passive Defense Manager at the National
Petrochemical Company pointed out that among the most significant effects of
climate change regulations worldwide are constraints on exports or heavy
taxation on high-carbon products in the coming years. Failure to mitigate
carbon footprints could pose a serious threat to the economies of the oil and
petrochemical industries.
