TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Iran's Minister of Petroleum, Javad Owji, revealed that the export of petrochemical products to member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is currently under consideration. The discussion is part of the agenda for the 20th meeting of the SCO Council of Prime Ministers, taking place in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

During a press briefing on the sidelines of the government's meeting, Owji discussed Iran's participation in the SCO and its commitment to supplying petrochemical products and essential commodities to fellow member states within the organization.

"In the course of this trip and as part of our cooperation within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, we are focusing on ensuring the supply of petrochemical products and the necessary goods to the member countries," Owji said.

Furthermore, the minister highlighted that discussions within the meeting also encompass topics like the export of technical engineering services, investment in the oil and gas sector, energy transmission pipelines, and notably, the transit of gas to countries in the Middle East via Iran. These negotiations are integral to strengthening energy ties and economic collaboration within the region.
