PETZONE Aims to Create 50,000 to 60,000 Direct Jobs

TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- The CEO of the Petrochemical Special Economic Zone (PETZONE) stated that the development plan for the Progress and Hope of the area can create 50,000 to 60,000 direct jobs during its construction in Bandar Mahshahr County, as well as in downstream industries and industrial towns in Khuzestan Province, southwestern Iran.

The CEO, Payam Barzegar, mentioned the significant potential and impact of the Special Economic Zone on the country's economy. He emphasized the necessity of developing this region due to the established infrastructure and distinct advantages compared to other areas in the country.

The development plan for the Progress and Hope of the Petrochemical Special Economic Zone covers more than 3,300 hectares of land. It aims to contribute to the completion of the petrochemical value chain and the creation of job opportunities. A budget of 800 billion Tomans has been allocated for the initial phase of the development plan in the current fiscal year.

Barzegar also noted the construction of two innovation factories in the Petrochemical Special Economic Zone, emphasizing the goal of maximizing added value and generating more employment opportunities while leveraging the capacity of knowledge-based companies.

The Special Economic Zone is seen as a significant driver of economic development and industrial growth, and this expansion is expected to bring prosperity to the region and the country as a whole.
