According to information released by the Petrochemical
Special Economic Zone Organization, a joint meeting was held on Saturday
evening between Seyed Jafar Hosseini, the Head of Regional Planning and
Development at the Organization of National Budget and Planning, Mehrdad Nikoo,
the Director General of the Organization for Management and Planning of
Khuzestan Province, and Payam Barzegar, the CEO of the Petrochemical Special
Economic Zone Organization, to discuss the latest status of the Progress and
Hope development plan of the Petrochemical Special Economic Zone.
Payam Barzegar, the CEO of the Petrochemical Special
Economic Zone Organization, highlighted the capabilities of the special zone
and its significant impact on the country's economy, emphasizing the necessity
of the region's development due to the established infrastructure and unique
advantages compared to other regions in the country.
He added that the Progress and Hope development plan covers
more than 3,300 hectares, and they hope to take significant steps toward
completing the petrochemical value chain and job creation with the acquisition
of this land.
Furthermore, an allocation of 800 billion Iranian rials has
been approved in this year's budget for the first phase of the development plan
by the board of directors and the general assembly of this organization.

Organization continued by stating that the Progress and Hope development plan
could generate 50,000 to 60,000 direct jobs during its construction phase in
Bandar Mahshahr County, as well as in downstream industries and industrial
towns in Khuzestan Province.
Barzegar also mentioned the construction of two innovation
factories in the Petrochemical Special Economic Zone, aiming to maximize added
value and increase employment while leveraging the potential of knowledge-based
companies.
At the conclusion of the meeting, officials from the
Organization of National Budget and Planning, along with representatives from
petrochemical companies Maroun, Shahid Tondgoyan, and ongoing projects in this
region, conducted a site visit to assess the development progress.
