TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- In a bid to showcase Iran's growing potential in the petrochemical industry, the 17th International IranPlast Exhibition has been hailed as a successful model of collaboration between the public and private sectors.

The event, scheduled from September 17 to 20, 2023, aims to bolster the country's position in the global petrochemical market while emphasizing the significance of private sector involvement in driving economic growth.

The Deputy Minister of Petroleum and CEO of the National Petrochemical Company, Morteza Shahmirzayi, expressed his optimism regarding the active participation of both government and private entities in the exhibition, citing it as an encouraging example of economic prospects in the petrochemical sector.

Shahmirzayi extended a warm invitation to all stakeholders and industry players to engage actively in the 17th International IranPlast Exhibition.

He underscored the pivotal role played by the National Petrochemical Company in formulating policies and steering the course of balanced development and value chain completion in downstream petrochemical industries. With the strengthening of both the private sector and petrochemical industry holdings, he anticipated witnessing a successful collaboration between the government and private sector in hosting the most specialized international petrochemical exhibition.

Highlighting one of the key advantages of Iran's recent petrochemical industry expansion, Shahmirzayi emphasized the promotion and reinforcement of the private sector, ultimately aiming to increase the efficiency of the public sector.

The Deputy Minister for Petrochemical Affairs noted that timely execution of petrochemical projects in line with established plans is a result of the effective and positive collaboration between the private and public sectors. This synergy has accelerated the completion of petrochemical projects and led to a substantial increase in production capacity for the industry in the years ahead.

Shahmirzayi stated that the surge in petrochemical production not only results in higher exports but also generates substantial direct revenue for the country. He asserted that the petrochemical industry plays a unique role in earning foreign exchange, particularly during challenging times of sanctions, which is unmatched by any other sector.

The 17th International IranPlast Exhibition aims to develop and enhance the value chain, support domestic production, and boost local manufacturing. Set to take place at the permanent International Exhibition Center in Tehran, the event promises to be a crucial platform for fostering business connections and presenting cutting-edge technologies in the petrochemical sector.

The exhibition is poised to attract industry leaders, experts, and investors from around the world, providing them with opportunities to explore Iran's promising petrochemical landscape. As Iran's petrochemical industry continues to grow and expand its global reach, IranPlast serves as a beacon of hope for the country's economic prosperity and development in the years to come.
