The annual general meeting of the Special
Economic Zone Organization of Petrochemical Companies was held today, Monday
(July 18), in the presence of Morteza Shahmirzai, the Deputy Minister of
Petroleum, the CEO of the National Petrochemical Company, the CEO of the Special
Economic Zone Organization of Petrochemical Companies, and the members of the
board of directors.
The CEO of the National Petrochemical Company
stated that the development of the special economic zone should focus on
completing the value chain and producing first-stage products.
He said, "A rapid movement towards creating
more added value in the petrochemical industry can lead to balanced development
of this valuable industry."
Shahmirzai added, "Diversification in the
product miof petrochemicals can meet many needs of other industries, especially
downstream industries, and prevent the trend of raw material sales in the
value-creating petrochemical industry."
The NPC CEO continued, "Transferring various
experiences and achievements by elites and experts can lead to the growth of
knowledge and scientific and technical levels among the active players in the
petrochemical industry, as well as passing it on to future generations."
He stressed the necessity of attracting new
investments and promoting job creation in the region, stating, "There are
significant capacities to complete the value chain in the Special Economic Zone
of Petrochemicals, and the development of technologies and the utilization of
achievements by knowledge-based companies will accelerate the development
process."
