Abdolali Rahimi Mozafarri, a member of the
presiding board of the Islamic Consultative Assembly's energy commission, told
reporters on the sidelines of the 27th International Oil, Gas, Refining and
Petrochemical Exhibition in Tehran that the role of domestic manufacturers in
developing the petrochemical industry and indigenizing knowledge in this sector
is significant.
He added that the parliament has obliged large
and productive companies to invest half a percent of their revenues in this
sector to support scientists, elites and knowledge-based firms.
The parliament member also referred to the
approval of the law on leap in knowledge-based production in the parliament,
and said: “Based on this law, the government has obliged the executive bodies
to use their resources and authorities with priority for using the capacities
of all stakeholders, knowledge-based companies and units located in growth
centers and science and technology parks for completing and developing value
chains and facilitating investment and enhancing technological and productive
capabilities of strategic items inside the country and developing exports.
