TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Rahim Masoudi, Chairman of APRTAC Petroleum Engineering Association, emphasized the need for innovative solutions to reduce carbon emissions while acknowledging that complete abandonment of fossil energy production is not feasible.

Speaking at the "Clean Environment of Petrochemical Units" meeting at the Iran Petrochemical Forum (IPF), Masoudi stressed the importance of public awareness regarding energy consumption, the use of artificial intelligence, and innovative solutions to achieve a reduction in carbon emissions.

Masoudi also highlighted the need for stability in meeting demands and increasing the value chain in the upstream and downstream industry relationship chain. Furthermore, he stated the importance of identifying opportunities, gaps, and deficiencies in material value to enhance production quality.

Regarding associated gas flaring, Masoudi emphasized that preventing its burning would transform the substance from a pollutant into a valuable commodity with high income.

He noted that renewable energy, bio-energy, and solar and wind energy could be used to reduce carbon emissions while ensuring a sustainable future for fossil energy production.

Lastly, Masoudi stressed the importance of energy consumption optimization and public awareness about the significance of energy consumption and its efficient use.

He called for a focus on digitalization, artificial intelligence, and quality assurance in the use of fossil energy in the quest to reduce carbon emissions.

In summary, Masoudi has called for innovative solutions that promote carbon emission reduction, public awareness of energy consumption and its efficient use, and stability in the upstream and downstream industry relationship chain to ensure a sustainable future for fossil energy production.
