Iran implements 67 petchem projects worth $40 billion

TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- The National Petrochemical Company (NPC) is implementing 67 petrochemical projects across different regions of the country with an estimated investment of $40 billion.

Ahmed Shokri, the director of projects of the National Petrochemical Company, revealed this information at a specialized panel on Iran's petrochemical projects, challenges and opportunities panel, which was held on the sidelines of the 14th Iran Petrochemical Forum on Tuesday.

Shokri said that more than 100 petrochemical projects have been defined for implementation across the country, which is expected to add more than 100 million tons to the production capacity of Iran's petrochemical industry.

Currently, the 67 petrochemical projects are being developed in the regions of Asaluyeh, Mahshahr, Makran, Energy Berparsian, Qeshm, Kermanshah, and Jask.

Shokri emphasized that these projects are being implemented with a favorable situation at hand. The projects are aimed at producing various petrochemical products to enhance Iran's position in the global market.

The 14th IPF was held from May 1 to May 2, and experts from different countries participated in the event. The conference aimed to discuss the opportunities, challenges, and future of Iran's petrochemical industry, which is considered one of the most important industries in the country.

Iran's petrochemical industry has been experiencing significant growth in recent years, despite facing various economic sanctions imposed by the United States and other countries. The government of Iran is investing heavily in the industry to increase production capacity and strengthen the country's economy.
