During a one-day trip to Asaluyeh on
Tuesday, southern Iran, Morteza Shahmirzaei held specialized meetings with
representatives of holdings and managing directors of petrochemical projects
located in Kangan, Deir and Siraf regions, saying: “Considering the favorable
infrastructure of petrochemical projects in Asalouyeh region and access to the
required feedstock in this region, the timely implementation of these projects
can be very effective in completion of the value chain and the development of
the petrochemical industry while creating the desired value added.”
Emphasizing the importance of speeding up implementation
of PDH projects, which supply propylene needed for value chain projects, he
added: “The operators of petrochemical projects should use the experiences and
lessons learned from the development of phase one of Asalouyeh and phase one of
Mahshahr as the first hubs of Iran's petrochemical industry, in creating
infrastructure outside the scope of projects, which is especially important in
cooperation with other companies and the surrounding community.”
The Deputy Minister of Petroleum for Petrochemical
Affairs stated: “In order to solve the obstacles and challenges of
petrochemical projects, in cooperation with NIOC, NIGC and other custodians of the
oil and gas industries, we will try to solve the problems and challenges raised
in these meetings, especially in the field of providing feedstock and obtaining
environmental approvals and issues.”
