According to the public relations office of the
Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (PGPIC), Afshin Kiani said the
surplus of this product will be exported after providing 100% of the needs of
Abadan, Ghadir and Bandar Emam petrochemical plants and it is expected export 50,000
tons of EDC by the end of the current calendar year, which began on March 21.
He talked about the current production status
in the complex: "After overhaul of late last year, we resumed production
and now 100% of the capacity is being produced. There is no problem in terms of
meeting domestic needs at the moment and we supply all the PVC needs of the
country, in addition, we send the chlorine required by the petrochemical plants
in the region, including Bandar Emam, Karoon, Khuzestan and Ghadir.”
He added: "By increasing the capacity of
the chlorine unit, we were able to increase the capacity of the EDC or ethylene
dichloride unit, which is an inter-complex product that fully meets the needs
of Abadan, Ghadir and Bandar Emam petrochemical plants.”
Kiani also announced the export of the first
shipment of caustic, and said: "We will meet all the needs of the domestic
market in the field of SPVC and EPVC in accordance with the plan for supply.”
