Masoud Sayehban stated about the prospects of implementing
propulsion plans: “Petrochemical industry propulsion plans with the strategy of
completing and developing the value chain and compensating the shortage of feed
required by secondary industries, diversifying the product mix, generating
value added and job creation were defined two years ago with the focus on
management, planning and development.”
He said that the propulsion projects are defined in the
form of 33 projects, adding: "Currently, 20 projects have received
construction permits, some of which are included in the third leap basket of
the petrochemical industry and have been activated by private sector investors."
The official noted: “With the development of propulsion
projects in the main chains of propylene, methanol, ethylene, benzene, urea and
butadiene, 20 new types of petrochemical products will be produced domestically,
and petrochemical imports will decline by 70%.”
Sayehban called one of the strategies for the development
of the petrochemical industry the completion of the methanol chain, and added:
"Now the country's methanol capacity is 12 million tons and with the
launch of active methanol projects by 1404 (2025), this annual capacity will
reach 23 million tons."
