South Pars Facilities not Affected by Earthquake

TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- "All the units and facilities of South Pars are operational and the earthquake has not caused any damage to the facilities," the CEO of Pars Special Zone Organization said, referring to the occurrence of a 3.6-magnitude earthquake in Assaluyeh city.

According to the Pars Energy Special Economic Zone, Sekhavat Asadi said: "According to the investigations, none of the facilities and industries located in South Pars were damaged and all the refineries and petrochemical plants in the region are productive.”

An earthquake shook the region on Sunday morning.

He added: "All safety and relief groups in the region are on standby and fortunately we have not received any reports of damage to facilities and industries so far."

A 3.6 magnitude earthquake shook Assaluyeh in Bushehr province at 11:19 a.m. on Sunday (October 31, 2021). According to the report of the Institute of Geophysics, University of Tehran, the location of the earthquake was recorded at latitude 27.32 degrees and longitude 52.65 at a depth of 20 km.
