The production control director of the National
Petrochemical Company said: "Petrochemical complexes produced 32.8 million
tons of various petrochemical products in the first 6 months of this [calendar]
year and supplied them to global markets after meeting domestic needs."
Speaking to NIPNA, Seyed Jalal Mirhashemi
stated: "The priority of production is to meet domestic needs and then
exports. In this regard, production of various petrochemical products according
to the plans made in the first 6 months of this year experienced a 8% growth compared
to the same period last year.”
He added: "Due to the outbreak of
coronavirus in the country, the supply of raw materials for grades required by
the health sector, including grades used to produce masks by petrochemical complexes
continues with a desirable capacity."
Iran's petrochemical industry is one of the
mother industries and one of the most important pillars of development and the driving
force of various sectors of the country's economy, he went on to add.
