New Oil Minister Outlines Priorities to Industry Staff

TEHRAN (NIPNA) – The new Iranian Minister of Petroleum Javad Owji briefed the industry’s senior executives with his priorities and plans under President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi.

Explaining his work priorities, he emphasized the need to respect human resources, meet the challenges of selling oil, maintain production, maximize exploitation of joint fields, attract capital and create value added by completing the value chain, expressing hope he would be able to take great steps in promoting the industry and serving the Iranian people.

He gave a brief overview of his work experience in various sectors of the oil industry and then outlined some of his most important work priorities with the aim of addressing the challenges facing the oil industry.

Referring to his graduation from the University of Petroleum Industry, he said: "After graduation, I started my work on the 78th Fath National Drilling rig by washing the casing threads. I have been active and have gradually climbed the ladder from expert to managerial work. In recent years, I have been active in the field of oil industry contracting by working in the executive headquarters of Imam Khomeini (Setad) and the Foundation for the Oppressed, and have gained experience in this field as well.”
