Behzad Mohammadi said on Tuesday that 17 projects became
operational last year and 11 others will come online this year and during the
next calendar year: 6 this year and 5 others next year.
He further said that 39 other projects have been considered
as the third leap of the petrochemical industry in Iran which will bring the country’s
annual petrochemical production capacity to 137 million tons per year by 2026.
Inauguration of the projects would also bring about 35
billion dollars in petrochemical revenue for the country, he said.
Mohammadi added that other projects have been defined which
are planned to bring the country’s petrochemical production capacity to 160
million tons per year by 2027. Iran’s petrochemical revenue would also reach 50
billion dollars by then, he said.
