According to IRNA, Alireza Babazadeh said: "In total,
in the spring of this year, the amount of chemical output of Khorasan
Petrochemical Industrial Complex reached 257,000 tons, which has increased by
58% compared to the same period last year."
He added: "In the same period, about 160,000 tons of
urea was produced in the industrial unit, which is 132% of its nominal capacity.”
The CEO of Khorasan Petrochemical Plant stated: The output
surge in this industrial unit had caused a 35% increase in revenue and profits
of the company compared to the projected plan, and this trend is expected to
continue until the end of this year.”
Khorasan Petrochemical Company is the largest chemical production
center in the north and northeast of the country, which was established in May
1992 in Bojnourd, the capital of North Khorasan Province, and was put into
operation in June 1996. This complex is located 17 km from the main artery of Bojnourd-Shirvan
and on an area of 200 hectares. It has ammonia, urea, melamine crystal and
utility production units.
