During a visit to the GTPP project, Hassan Abbaszadeh said:
"Since this project is the first national project in the petrochemical
industry whose chain in each three phases of natural gas to methanol, methanol
to propylene and propylene to polypropylene have been defined by using
homegrown technical savvy, NPC has planned to use 200,000 tons of excess
methanol in the plant to feed formalin, POM and methylamine plants in the
western province of Kermanshah”.
He stated that one of the guiding policies of the National Petrochemical
Company is always the development of the value chain and downstream industries
of the ongoing projects, adding: "Currently, the investor of the formalin
unit has submitted his request and is in the stage of receiving the principal
approval."
He continued: "The POM unit, which will be built for
the first time in the petrochemical industry, has now been approved in principle,
as well as the Songhor methylamine project, which is bankrolled by the Persian
Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (PGPIC), and the feedstock for both
projects will be supplied by the excel methanol output of Islamabad West Plant.”
