Hossein Hosseinzadeh stressed the
need for petrochemicals to prosper, saying: "Since petrochemicals have a
higher value-added ratio and employment is much higher than the sale of crude
oil, more efforts should be made to convert oil into various products to create
value added for the country."
He added: "Undoubtedly, the
development of refining and petrochemical industries and the formation of value
chains in the downstream sector of these industries will create jobs by
creating economic incentives and injecting stray liquidity into these
industries.”
A member of the Energy Committee
of the Islamic Consultative Assembly stated: "Since the field of
petrochemicals is very large, many raw materials can be converted into various
products, and by converting them into different products that have good
quality, our non-oil exports will increase."
