Behzad Mohammadi called for institutionalizing sustainable thinking in
order to ensure progress towards development and improved resilience of the petrochemical
industry.
During a ceremony to launch a semi-industrial methanol to propylene
(MTP) plant in Mahshahr on Friday, he said: “Today is a day of price and memory
for the Iranian petrochemical industry and the result of years of continuous
efforts of researchers in the Petrochemical Research and Technology Company
will be unveiled.”
He said that the launch of the MTP plant is a valuable achievement for
the Iranian petrochemical industry, adding NPC’s role is to develop
infrastructure and it is necessary to increase production capacity in the
industry due to the existence of extensive feedstock sources to produce different
products.
The plant will operate with 120,000 tons per year of production capacity.
Fateh Kimia Petrochemical Company has signed a contract with the Petrochemical
Research and Technology Company (PRTC) for lensing the licenses for the MTP
plant.
Mohammadi further lauded PRTC’s achievements in the field, saying, "The
Petrochemical Research and Technology Company has made great achievements in
the production of MTP catalysts that in the near future the production unit of
these catalysts will be launched in the Arak center of the company.”
