PGPIC to Hold Conference on Supporting Petchem Domestic Manufacturing

TEHRAN (NIPNA) – The Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (PGPIC) will hold a conference and exhibition on supporting domestic manufacturing in the petrochemical industry.

PGPIC’s director of production control Mohammad Reza Soleimanzadeh, referring to the eye-catching progress made in Iran’s petrochemical industry in recent years, said that many of the items and equipment needed in the industry were used to be imported 15 years ago, but now they were mostly being supplied by domestic manufacturers.

“Today, many of the advanced catalysts and equipment used in the industry are supplied domestically inasmuch as over 90% of the petrochemical catalysts have already been indigenized,” he said.

Referring to the massive capacity of Iranian companies in the field of expert workforce, he said: "If the right support for the specialists is ensured and the suitable job market is provided for them inside the country, knowledge-based activities will proceed faster,” he added.

Based on these capacities as well as the main policy and determination of PGPIC to support and utilize maximum domestic capabilities power in consulting, engineering, and production of products and services, maximum purchase of Iranian products along with supporting domestic manufacturers, utilizing the potentialities of knowledge-based companies, paying attention to strengthening the production chain in the petrochemical industry, and the need to have a close relationship between PGPIC subsidiaries and providers of the related services and products, the holding company has decided to hold the conference, Soleimanzadeh said.

The three-day conference is planned to be held on February 16 to 18, 2020 in Kish Island.
