Ghodratollah
Farajpour, the production control director at National Petrochemical Company
(NPC), said the project, with 7,000 tons of methanol production per day, was
being prepared for inauguration and would come online before the end of the current
calendar year to March 20 2019.
He said
by fully commissioning of Marjan Petrochemical Plant, with 5,000 tons/day of production
capacity, the country’s petrochemical production capacity would increase,
adding the plant was currently operating at 70 to 80 percent of its nameplate
capacity.
The official
also added that 75 percent of Marjan Petrochemical Plant’s construction was
carried out by Iranian developers in the fields of design, construction,
installation and procurement of items.
Farajpour
further expressed satisfaction at the country’s petrochemical output despite
all the difficulties they had gone through in recent months.
