The cryogenic air separation unit (ASU) of the plant
came online earlier this week after round-the-clock efforts of the plant's
experts and executives.
The utility required for running the plant was
primarily supposed to be supplied from a concentrated unit but after
privatization of the unit, it was decided that an ASU unit be constructed in it
for supplying utilities such as oxygen.
The plant is being constructed with 1.65 million
tons of annual production capacity at phase II of Asaluyeh, southern Iran.
