Speaking to NIPNA, Mohammad Lahouti said: "Iran's petrochemical
industry is developing rapidly, and all sectors of this leading industry must
be supported. By completing the value chain, we can add value to this industry."
Lahouti, referring to the acceptable share of petrochemicals in the
export mix of the country, said: "A glance at the country's export records
in recent years show that in the [calendar] year 1380 (2001-2002), the country's
export figure was only $3 billion, while the figure has accelerated
considerably in recent years."
The official further stressed the 3% growth in export of petrochemicals
and gas condensate in the first 10 months of the current Iranian calendar year
which began on March 21.
