Once completed, the project will add 1.65m tons of methanol to the country's annual petrochemical output.
The plant's machinery and equipment have been purchased. Installation of the plant will take a year and a half and will be completed by March 2017.
The project is beings carried out by an investment of IRR 887 billion by Sata Investment Company (67%) for its completion.
Located in Pars Economic Energy Zone in Assaluyeh, south of Iran, the project is regarded as one of the major petrochemical projects in the country which is being constructed under a 500-million-Euro contract and is expected to process 1.65 million tons of methanol annually.
The plant will run on 5.1 billion metric tons/year of natural gas recovered from South Pars gas field in Persian Gulf waters.
Marjan will receive utilities from Damavand Petrochemical Utility Plant.
