Official Calls for Easing Legal Barriers for Petchem Activities

TEHRAN (NIPNA)--A deputy minister of industry, mine and trade has called on the running administration and the country's legislature to reduce legal barriers to boost investments in the petrochemical sector.

Mojtaba Khosrowtaj said the petrochemical industry is a serious advantage for other industries in Iran and financiers of the industry must be supported by the administration and its officials.

He also voiced the ministry's readiness to endorse investors in petrochemical projects of the country, adding that financing petrochemical projects is undoubtedly lucrative for investors.

He further described the production of petrochemicals in Iran as suitable, saying that the country is bracing for raising its production capacity once several nearly-finished projects come on-stream in the country.

Khostowtaj also underlined the need for clarification of investment procedures for Iranian and foreign financiers who are interested in joining the industry.
